I work on the biggest canvases I can fit in my studio, applying painting strategies of Panayiotis Tetsis and Robert Hamilton in my portraits, landscapes, and still life. Contemporary Figurative Oils and watercolor share series based on my interest du jour. I’m addicted to pattern, collecting fabrics to inspire painting backgrounds. My process is to apply paint then deconstruct, creating an inconsistent surface hinting towards loose narrative. With ferocious determination, years of discipline, and explosive exploration, I am scientist. These rectangular diaries are my solutions to visual challenges which will outlive me to become a lens for others into this time. Be forewarned, whether the work depicts my people, my places, or my cancer, it will be bold, brave, and important.
